Monthly Archives: September 2011 Tuesday night I arrived in sunny California to attend SportsShooter Academy VIII, which is definitely living up to it’s billing as the COOLEST Sports Photography event of the year! Yesterday I attended a lighting workshop led by Robert Hanashiro of USA Today and then had my edits from that shoot critiqued by Tim Mantoani, an amazing San Diego…  There’s a pretty tight community of sports photographers, photojournalists, reporters, etc. on Twitter so when I started getting a few “Big congrats!” and “Congrats on the SI Cover” tweets late yesterday evening I was quite certain that April 1st had arrived for a second time this year.
